Poetry Judge 2024-2025

With over 25 years of experience in education across the US, China, France, and Switzerland, Elizabeth Boquet is a poet and dedicated teacher. She served as a professor at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and has taught at the Hong Kong International School and Roland Park Country School in Baltimore. Throughout her career, poetry has served as her constant companion and creative outlet, providing a linguistic refuge no matter where life has taken her.

Elizabeth’s work has been widely recognized, with more than 30 of her poems published in literary journals and anthologies. Her notable achievements include winning a Geneva Writers’ Literary Prize, awarded by Naomi Shihab Nye in 2017, and having two of her poems from her collection GALOSHES featured by Billy Collins on The Poetry Broadcast in 2022. Her second poetry collection, POLLYWOGS, is set to be released in November 2024.

Elizabeth is also an active leader in the literary community. She is the founder and chair of The Pernessy Poets, has served on the Geneva Writers’ Group steering committee, and currently sits on the advisory board of The Frost Place. Her academic background includes an M.A. from Middlebury College in partnership with l’Université de Paris X, a B.A. from Goucher College, and a high school diploma from Northfield Mount Hermon. She also holds secondary school teacher certification, along with TEFL/TESL certification, and has pursued literary studies at The Frost Place and Bread Loaf.
