The Swiss Creative Writing Prize is a competition to encourage creative writing in English amongst high-school-aged students in Switzerland. It aims to help students develop their thinking, self-expression and creative skills as well as their ability to write in English.
The submissions portal for the 5th Edition of the Swiss Creative Writing Prize will open on Sunday, 16th October, 2022 at 18.00.
Any student in the Swiss public education system studying for a Swiss high-school certificate/examination is invited to submit work in the following categories:
- Short Story (up to 1,000 words, either fiction or narrative non-fiction)
- Poetry (up to two poems of any length)
This year, Paul Scraton will judge the Short Story Prize and Michelle Bailat-Jones will judge the Poetry Prize.
Submissions will close Monday, 10th April 2023 at 18.00. The shortlist will be announced at the end of that month and the shortlisted writers and poets will be invited to workshops and prize-giving reception at the Lili Centre in Luzerne on Sunday, 14th May 2023.
