About the Prize

Any student in the Swiss public education system studying for a Swiss high-school certificate/examination is invited to submit work in the following categories:

  • Short Story (up to 1,000 words, either fiction or narrative non-fiction)
  • Poetry (up to two poems of any length)

Journalist and novelist Caroline Bishop is judging the short story prize. Before submitting please remember to read about Caroline, think about the theme she has chosen and what she is looking for. Don’t forget to read the short story rules.

Poet and creative-writing teacher Carla Drysdale is judging the poetry prize. Don’t forget to read about Carla, understand what she is looking for in a poem, understand the theme and read the poetry prize rules.

Submissions close at midday (12 noon) on 2nd April 2021. The shortlist will be announced on 23rd April and the shortlisted writers and poets will be invited to workshops and prize-giving reception at the Lili Centre on Sunday, 30th May (Covid restrictions permitting).
